Zachry Holdings, Inc. acquires Commonwealth Engineering
Zachry Holdings, Inc. has announced the further expansion of its capabilities as an EPC contractor in the process industries by acquiring substantially all of the assets of Houston-based Commonwealth Engineering & Construction, LLC.
"The acquisition of Commonwealth, along with the recent acquisition of JVIC and the Tyler design center, represents a further, major step in Zachry's evolution as one of America's leading EPC providers. Commonwealth significantly expands our capabilities in the refining and petrochemical sectors and provides a permanent engineering presence for us in the Houston market. In addition to the current expansion of our engineering staff in San Antonio, this is a strong signal of our commitment to supporting our customers particularly in the rapidly expanding Gulf Coast region," said Keith Manning, executive vice president of Zachry Holdings, Inc.
The 80-strong Commonwealth Engineering team increases Zachry’s engineering staff in Texas to approximately 600, of which 400 are focused primarily on the refining and petrochemical sectors.
Paul Varello, founder and chairman of Commonwealth said, "We are delighted to be joining forces with Zachry and the opportunity it provides to deepen our involvement in the build-out of the refining and petrochemical infrastructure of the U.S. We have already established a strong working relationship with Zachry and we are excited about the value that our combined capabilities will enable us to deliver to customers particularly with an industry leading EPC platform."
